The Role
Birlliant I have been able to experience lots of different aspects of the business. Which has allowed me to maximise my expereince.
Everybody has been very friendly and welcoming. If you require help you can go to anyone and they will be more than wiling to help, and never make you feel like you are asking a silly question (even if it is). You are also not treat like 'just a placement student' everyone around me has treat me just as equal as anyone else working for Cummins.

I recieved a good balance of work I did not feel to under too much pressure.
I was given my own projects to run and also was part of team with a few ongoing projects. This was a perfect balance with having no real experience of project management. I got to learn alot from the projects I was a part of and also try out what I had learnt on the samller projects that I ran myself.
I feel I have developed alot since my placement began, university alone does not get you ready for the working world in anyway. I have done several different training courses since been at Cummins which has helped me immensley in my development for when I try to find a full time job after I have graduated. These are readily available and I have been able to book myslef on to any that interest me with my managers approval. Just showdowing people at Cummins and watching the way everyone works has also helped me a great deal in understading the working world and how to put the theroy into practice.

We recieved a meet and greet prior to the start fo our placement which allowed us to meet each other before hand. We also recieved weekly catch up meetings for the first weeks which allowed all the placment students to carry on gettign to know each other and arrange nights out and social events.
Good
Good nighlife in Huddersfield, it is also close to Manchester and Leeds with regular trains going to both all the way through the night.
Yes regular events through sprots and social club which allows you to go on trips at a subsidised cost even trips to disney land paris, flamingo land, prague etc.... Also volunteering activities that Cummins is very heavily involved with.
