The Role
I enjoyed my placement a lot! Everybody is very friendly and approachable.
Your colleagues will treat you as a normal employee.
My manager was always very approachable. Even though everyone is very busy, my colleagues were always happy to help.
It purely depends upon the role and the manager. For my role, it depended upon the time of the month, requests by other managers etc.
More than enough to feel valued.
I learned a lot of practical skills, which are only remotely applicable in my studies but incredibly useful for my professional life.
The Company
Generally very good. People are down to earth and very professional. The atmosphere is friendly and nobody will be mad if you have a short non-work related chat with a colleague.
Very well organised by HR and my manager. A handover week was organised and some handover notes were given to me. Everything is very clear from the start. HR is very approachable in case you need help with something.
I was invited to several trainings outside the office. I stronly valued these sessions and believe they show how committed L'Oreal is towards its educational programs. It is also possible to set up meetings with managers in different positions to learn more about other activities.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
Difficult, as I believe I have not performed well enough. L'Oreal is very competitive and there are thousands of applicants each year. We will see how it goes.
The Culture
Yes, an intern board was set up, which regularly organised events. Not many people attended but the effort was there! I guess that it will be more organised in future.
Not too expensive, however not as exciting as more central locations. To be honest I have never really explored the area.
Not particularly good. There are some good pubs but if you want something more exciting you will have to go more central.
5 a side footy, tennis courts, gym, pubs etc. There are enough opportunities to do some sport . A Virgin Active is right outside the office.
