The Role
It was enormously fun, but I was not given nearly enough work.
Lots of positive feedback, really gave me the impression that i was helping.
When manager was present, support and guidance was forthcoming. Manager was rarely around, however.
Work was interesting, but not nearly enough of it. Spent on average about 50% of the time with nothing to do, and nobody around to ask for more.
Was not enormously responsible for anything immensely important. However, in the context of my duties, it would have been difficult for this to be the case.
Presentation skills were useful.
The Company
Busy, humming with activity. Everyone was friendly.
Very well organised, with two exceptions: 1. Not enough work 2. Accommodation allowance not paid until almost a month after required by most organisations.
I believe we spent around 1 week of the 9 week placement being trained.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Job descriptions were a bit vague, but talking to current grads made the choice easier.
The Culture
Frequent nights out. However, a large proportion of the grads were Imperial students are were already very cliquey. Not the fault of DB, obviously.
Very expensive. Central london. Did not expect otherwise.
Lots of bars, not so much a nightlife. More an after-work-life.
Day's volunteering cutting down trees in Canada Water. Awesome :)
