The Role
Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Vauxhall, met a lot of great people, the role was interesting and will be missed once I leave!
I felt part of the team almost instantly, been involved in all department activities, its almost like i've been here for years.
I was given all the support as and when I needed it. I was not afraid to ask for help either as I knew everyone would be willing to support me.
Workload varied over time but that was due to the economic climate and the state of the motor industry as a whole. At times I had lots of work, with various projects, sometimes for Chevrolet as well, whereas other times the whole department were quiet.
I was given lots of responsibilty, it was no support role, and if I wasn't here then there would be some needed to cover the work that I do.
New skills always come through new experiences. This year especially I had been able to improve my communication (written and oral) and teamwork skills. I have learnt to prioritise things and began to plan for future tasks which is something I rarely did.
The Company
There was always a positive attitude in the office and a day didn't go by without a load of laughs. We had a quiz every day to bring the group together and the atmosphere within the office was one thing that made me look forward to my day.
I thought it was organised very well. From the very beginning with induction days, assistance the secure housing to social events, the organisation of interviews for the new undergraduates later on in the year.
In terms of me personally, probably not that much, but in terms of the whole undergraduate scheme, a lot of time and effort is put into it to enable students to get the most out of it. I feel I have certainly felt the benefit of this in this way.

Graduate positions are few and far between at Vauxhall, however they do recognise outstanding performers in the Undergraduate Scheme andtend to offer positions to them.
The Culture
There are over 100 placement students and there were social events every week. It was effectively like being at university in this respect.
Coming from the North, it was expensive.
It was good, but there was always the thought that "this is Luton, things could turn sour very quickly", so you always had to be alert. Although if you stay out of trouble then you will be fine!
there was football twice a week which was my main activity, but that was one of numerous sporting activites you could do.
