The Role
I really enjoyed the placement year at Vauxhall! I was given a lot of responsibility and was exposed to lots of different environments within the business.
In my team, my manager and other colleagues were so kind and great to work with everyday! They were always willing to help me out!
We are all assigned a mentor and CAP objectives to achieve.
It really varies. Some days I am extremely busy and others I have more time to organise my work space and finish tasks off etc.
I was given a lot of responsibility that I thrived off of having!
These skills, organisation, efficiency and time management, will definitely be very applicable to final year studies and the grad job. The Excel training received was also very beneficial!
The Company
It really varied, great atmosphere with all the undergrads here!! However when deadlines are near the atmosphere can get pretty stressful, however this is really well balanced by the light hearted people in the team that made day to day working very enjoyable.
Very well organised there are lots of things for undergrads to get involved in and continued training that complimented our job roles. We also have 2 week handover period that was very beneficial.
We were offered contiuned training in both Excel, Safe Driving and Powerpoint that was very beneficial.

I would love to come back and work at Vauxhall later in life. However as there is no set Grad scheme I think I will reevaluate the prospects here.
The Culture
It was great!!!! There are so many undergrads and we all live in the same area that the social life is great and there is always something going on!
Luton and surrounding areas are really affordable and means that we don't have to waste too much on the cost of living!
We would often travel on nights out in and around Luton. London is also not a long train journey away so there are loads of opportunities to go on other nights out!
Apart from nights out and gyms that undergrads go to there are not too many outside work activities. Apart from football for the lads!
