The Role
Most of the time I found my placement enjoyable.
I have felt like a permenant member of the department, and respected as if I were there for longer than 1 year.
I have regualar 1 to 1 meetings with my line manger, and also have a mentor to give advice.
The days vary, not a steady stream of work. Some days can be slow with little to do, while others can be very busy.
I have a number of areas of my job which I am completely responsible for. A lot of trust is given to you as an undergraduate.
I have developed my analytical skills and excel skills.
The Company
Friendly atmosphere. Sometimes very quiet.
Very well organsied. A well structured handover at the begining of the placement.
We get a lot fo training (interview training, presentation training, excel training).
Subsidised/Company Gym
Not a large graduate scheme.
The Culture
Most placement students live in houses together, therefore there is plenty of opportunity to socialise.
My rent is quite expensive.
Luton is not great. However, it is close to lots of over places. London train links are good, and run through night on Friday nights!
Yes, you can get involved in London to Brighton bike rides, the community project etc.
