The Role
It has been a great learning curve. And the fact that there are so many other Undergraduates has made it a good experience.
My colleagues have always made me feel valued, this has been helped by the amount of responsibility I have been given throughout the year.
My manager has always been more than happy to provide assistance when needed. I have never been made to feel bad asking for help, which has been required over the course of the year.
Because my role is predominantly ad-hoc, there are some days when I have been far busier than others. However there is always something that needs to be done, so I have very rarely been left with nothing to do.
I was surprised how much responsibility I have actually been given. Some of the reports I have done have needed to be circulated to some very senior members of the company, such as the Managing Director.
There is a lot I can take from this placement, and so many areas that i have improved in. I feel I am now standing in good stead for my future career.
The Company
The atmosphere was generally good, there was always quite a friendly vibe around the office which has helped make the experience more enjoyable.
I think it has been adequately well organised.
Throughout the course of the year I have had numerous opportunities to undergo training, such as excel trainign for example. I have found this very helpful.
Personally I don't feel like I would like a job here in the future, however I can see how it would be appealing for others, as it is a good company.
The Culture
Yes the socialising amongst the other Undergraduates has been good, there is often things going on at the weekends etc.
It was relatively cheap, although there are not as many student offers as a big student city has.
Distinctly average.. although there are places nearby that are good for nights out. London for example.
There have been a few, not a great deal.
