The Role
I have loved working for Vauxhall and have learnt so much in my placement year. I would definitely recommend working for Vauxhall Motors.
My team were supportive and helpful right from the beginning and I felt part of the team instantly.
I was given a lot of support and my questions were always answered by every member of the team.
At first, I was quite quiet but as the months have gone on, I have been given projects to own which has given me more responsibility. If I was ever quiet, I would was happy to ask the team for me.
I feel that I was give a lot of responsibility throughout my placement year with projects that I seen through from beginning to end.
I feel very confident about going back to University next year as I feel I have learnt such a wide range of skills that will help me in every aspect of my final year.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was really friendly and everyone has so much fun. There is a perfect balance of work and fun.
As Vauxhall has been running the placement scheme for many years, I feel as though it is very organised and structured.
I was given excel training both beginner and intermediate in order to improve my skills. The training lasted for a day and really helped me understand excel and use it within my job role.

I have really enjoyed my time at Vauxhall and if there were opportunities on the graduate scheme, I would strongly consider applying.
The Culture
There are 109 undergraduates in total so the social scene is like being at Uni all over again. The first two weeks are called 'handover' and we socialise with the all the old undergrads and new undergrads which is always so much fun.
Luton is a pretty cheap area so my rent was really reasonable, also the nightclubs and bars are cheaper than London so I have managed to save quite a lot of money for the final year at Uni.
Luton isn't the nicest place to live in but it's what you make of it. The undergrads in my year threw house parties and we went out to Watford, St.Albans and Harpenden which are all big on nightlife.
There are always lots of things going on after work and it's easy to get involved in activites.
