The Role
My particular role is heavily based around reporting on data and using Excel in my day to day tasks which at first seemed monotomous. However, after I had got to grips with the systems and was comfortable in my role, was soon given more creative tasks which I found more engaging and felt like a crucial member of the team. Overall, I have enjoyed this placement.
I am part of a very small team which allows me to get heavily involved in all tasks we undertake. Because of this, working as a team is crucial resulting in feeling valued and making valuable contributions.
I have been given support and training in how to use all the Mocrosoft office programmes to help me in my day to day tasks. I have also had the opportunity to shadow field staff to gain experience of a wider nature allowing me to improve my role and deliver to a higher standard.
Monthly and weekly reporting keep me occupied along with Ad hoc work that comes in as and when it is needed.
I have been given the responsibility of many tasks that are crucial to a wider project. If things go wrong then it is solely on my shoulders but when things go right and are completed successfully, the feeling of accomplishment is incredible.
The computer skills I have gained are invaluable and will benefit me hugely in my degree. I have also gained incredible time management skills and processes for completing tasks in a systematic manner.
The Company
Everyone is friendly and very approchable and it is a fun place to work.
At the beginning of the placement you have a two week handover period which allows you to get set up on Vauxhall systems and meet new undergraduates. From then on you are given support throughout every aspect of the journey. I think the placement is well organised and executed.
I have been given training in all Microsoft office programmes, been given the opportunity to shadow field team members and been trained in using systems to invest capital into tangible products.

If there ws a graduate opportunity available to me I would strongly consider taking it.
The Culture
Very good social scene. Every weekend there is something going on.
The cost of living in Luton is very cheap. There is only one club so choice is very limited.
The nightlife is limited as there are very few clubs however there are quite a lot of pubs and bars. The nights are what you make of them.
There are opportunities to get involved in Rugby, Football, Cricket and a range of other opportunities.
