The Role
I really enjoyed the responsibilty that i was given here at Vauxhall, the responsibilty much exceeding what i was expecting walking into Vauxhall.
I think the vast amount of responsibility speaks for itself in relation to feeling valued. Any work that you do gets treated and trusted as much as anyone else in the work place and because of that you feel just as valued as anyone else.
I recieved nothing but good support and guidance from both managerial posistions and work collegues within my department. Always willing to take time to sit with you if you have any problems.
My task turnover is monthly so within a month i will be more or less busy dependent on what time of the month it is. However as a whole i feel i have a good balance of work but at the same time not too much that makes you feel pressured or under too much stress.
I was pleasently surprised by the amount of responsibility we have been given, being able to manage and head big projects makes the placement alot more appealing and definitely made me feel more vauled working here.
I learnt alot of essential skills during handover, including professionalism, confidence and general excel based skills. I feel alot more confident moving forward to when I apply for graduate roles.
The Company
The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly in my departement, a good mix between work and play. There is always someone there to ask for help or approach if you're stuck on a certain project / task.
organisation was good at Vauxhall, everything well planned and well set up.
I attended alot of training days on many varying topics - all of which i learnt alot from !
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I myself would not be interested in coming back to Vauxhall. However much i enjoyed the placement and learnt alot from it, the area in which it's based is not for me.
The Culture
With regards to the social side of Vauxhall it is excellent. The sheer amount of people gives you so many opportunity to meet new people. It's the perfect transistion from university to placement.
The bedfordshire area is a very cheap place to live, with rent and general living expense being low.
The nightlife in Luton itself is not brilliant, howver being so close to LDN it is perfect for traveling into LDN with very little expense.
There is alot of outside sports activity groups that anyone can get involved in that help to mix all types of employess; undergrad, graduate or employee
