The Role
Really varied work experience, doing a proper job in which you are held accountable for, social events to.
Everyone I completed tasks for thanked me for my work and as I became more competent I was given more responsibility.
My manger is always available to talk about any issues I may have, whole department is really friendly and will be able to help you, even if it is just how to do something on Excel.
It varied on a day to day basis, one day you might be preparing for a big presentation, whereas, other days you might need to use your intiaitive to create work for yourself.
As the year went on, you can suggest your own ideas for projects as well as volunteer to lead extra curricular projects.
I have developed many transferable skills that I can utilise for final year and when applying for graduate jobs.
The Company
It is a normal office environment, however, everyone will be willing to talk to you and have a laugh at appropriate times.
Always kept informed with what was happening and what you needed to prepare for.
Lots of training available, motivational talks every month about where the company was going, Who Am I presentations giving you expose to directors and other managers.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
There is no graduate scheme but graduates are picked from current undergraduates so if you do well during your placement year then you might be invited to an assessment centre.
The Culture
Lots of social events both with undergraduates and the department.
Quite cheap, it depends on how often you think you will go out though.
Luton is not great for night life, but if there is a big group of you then you can still have a good night out.
Lots of social events, especially in this department.
