The Role
Enjoyed my time at the time company, the people were easy to get along with and made me feel welcome and valued. Could have dealt with a heavier workload, sat doing nothing at times.
The workforce are used to having high numbers of undergrads around the building so are friendly and helpful.
Spoke on a regular basis. Would always help out when needed.
Some days I was really busy, some days I did nothing, the responsibility picked up towards the end of the placement but still some long days.
Wouldn't say I ran the show, did a few important tasks that were quite important.
Particularly my Excel knowledge I will use beyond my studies.
The Company
Banter was good, lots of jokes/pranks.
Could have been better towards the start, my role was new so that could of been the reason. Towards the end it was good, i'm sure my replacement will enjoy it.
Few presentation/computer skills courses nothing major. Did allow off site visits to retailer which was useful in improving my knowledge of the industry.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Would possibly return, can't imagine it happening however.
The Culture
Was a good social scene, large number of other students on placement, around 80 I think so nights out were always lively.
the only nightclub of any use was quite expensive. Apart from that the cost of living was cheap, housing including bills came to £340 p/m in a 10 bedroom mansion.
Rather watch the Lord of the rings trilogy backwards with no sound 20 times, maybe I have it good going to uni in Newcastle but my god Luton is rubbish.
Weekly football, few events, always doing things with the other undergrads so it was easy to pass time.
