The Role
Really enjoyed communicating with so many different people and learning a lot about different parts of both finance and sales.
There's a great team who are always there if you need any help, but also value your opinion and respect what you have to say.
Always someone there to ask for assistance if you needed but you're still able to get on with your work without feeling hounded or under pressure.
Busy most of the time, however this helps to keep you motivated as long as you learn to manage your time well enough.
Was given responsibility for my own fleet channel, which is why there's always something to you. You're responsible for your own work, setting up meetings and phonecalls with the sales team. The main skill you're using in this role is decision making, so you're given a huge amount of responsibility from day one.
I've had a lot of Excel training which will be extremely beneficial to me in the future. Also you develop skills whilst not even realising such as negotiation, communication and time management.
The Company
The team I worked with were all up for a laugh and did have some great fun! Although when it's a busy week the office is generally very quiet when everyone's getting their work done.
Overall it was set up really well, the support you get with housing etc is brilliant as you don't normally get this on placement.
If you want training in a certain area there was never any hesitation to get you that extra bit of help. If you express interest in a certain area or department then there's always the opportunity to look into it further.

The one downfall is that there's not a graduate scheme - you have to be invited back, and I'm not sure how many graduates they are taking on next year. It would be more motivating if you knew you had a good chance of getting a job afterwards, rather than being cherry picked.
The Culture
There's so many placement students it's like being at uni - but with money. You all live pretty close to each other so there's always something going on.
Luton's a fairly cheap place to live and depending on what night you go out it's usually a cheap night.
There's a few standard pubs that have music like Wetherspoons, Yates, and there's have a Liquid/Envy, it's a laugh with the right people but nothing special.
The Vauxhall Rec club have sports clubs etc and you are offered events such as car shows and theatre performances etc.
