The Role
I had an amazing time, gaining a huge ammount of knowledge and experience.
I was not treated like an intern, but as a professional colleague at all times.
My whole team were extremely supportive; allowing me to get involved in great deatail in projects or prsonal development opportunities which I was interested in.
I was very busy but that is because I was eager to get involved with as much as possible to broaden my experience. My team would have supported me completely if I had raised the ammount of work as an issue
I was given a large ammount of responsibility, from creating reports and analysis for the board of directors to creating budgets, forecasts and business plans.
The skills which I have learnt on this placement have by far surpassed all my expectations and will definitely be useful for the rest of my life. I had reached all my goals in my initial personal development plan for the year after just three months and the learning curve continued at this same rate for the whole year.
The Company
Atmosphere was calm and relaxed most of the time and became a little more mellow around major deadlines.
Fantastic
All interns had a lot of time invested in their personal development from both their line managers and the graduate recruiters.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Unfortunately they do not offer jobs on a graduate scheme at the end of it and I will have to go through the same recruitment process as anyone else to get on the scheme. However, my line managers have clearly expressed that they would happily employ me if an appropriate vacancy is availible.
The Culture
Yes, 10 of us lived in two houses in Reading and reguarly met up and went out.
Slightly expensive but still O.K.
Expensive but still good
Many opportunities to volunteer and get involved with the community.
