About You
Great experience, I learnt a lot about the structure of HSBC and the summer analyst programme.
To a great extent, all employees were extremely easy to speak to.
We took part in a summer analyst information session at the end of the week which gave us advice for the fast track assessment centres.
We took part in multiple skill sessions. Most notably was a 'how to network' session which was really useful.
The Company
At the beginning of the week we were given a booklet outlining all the presentations taking place throughout the week.
Great, everyone was really friendly.
HSBC spent a lot of time building a jam-packed schedule.
We had a summer analyst Q&A to give us tips for the summer analyst programme.
Many presentations and networking sessions to ask questions to employees.
It gave a great overview of the firm, however it did not include any work shadowing which I believe would have given a better insight into the work at HSBC.
Everything Else
Transport and food was covered for those who live outside the M25.
Majority of the day spent networking and meeting employees.
Met employees across many divisions.
From the employees I spoke to they tend to participate in sport in their free time.
Great overview of HSBC, however I do believe that work shadowing would add a lot of value to this spring week.
