The Role
I enjoyed working a 9 to 5 routine and the other employees made the days enjoyable
I was treated the same as every body else in my team. The respect shown to me made me feel valued and everyone was really approachable and friendly.
Any problems i had, there was always someone there to assist me if i needed it along the way and never once was i told a problem or issue was too small.
Some days would be busier than others, particularly 'month end', the first week of every month, was particularly busy. There was quieter periods where i didnt have much to do, however i just asked for more work... at the end of the day you want to get as much out of your year as you can.
From the very start i was given tasks that involved great responsibility, i was very glad of this as i wanted to learn as much as possible.
I have developed many skills, in particular the ones i can take away are advanced excel skills and knowledge with the main accounting system 'SAP'. The work experience has shown me what it would be like to work as an accountant.
The Company
Everyone likes to stop for a chat, and everyone is really friendly. Food left over from meetings were always brought to Finance and when it is someones birthday, they would bring in lots of nice food which also made the atmosphere a nice place to work.
Very well structured. Particularly the induction week and the IP training days spread throughout the year made sure you were always looked after and had a clear focus throughout the placement
There were 4 student placement training days, an induction week and access to particular training days for programmes such as Excel
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
I would highly recommend BPF to anyone thinking of applying.
The Culture
For the IP's there were several student social evenings organised but these were located in Coventry.
Redhill has a good cost of living however i commuted from london to be able to live with friends. Not much of a social scene other than a few nice pubs
look above
There was a healthy living week which had lots of activities to take part in throughout the week.
