The Role
The team spirit of working with other interns made the placement a greta experience.
My colleagues were other students and we all supported and valued one another evry much.
The team at Scottish Enterprise were very nice and support at Glasggow University was fantastic.
There was a lot of work to do in a very short space of time, but the stress of each day really depended upon the team organisation and work ethic.
Everybody in the team accepted responsibility, but I acted as project coordinator for one of the consultancy projects. As interns, we were left to our own devices to complete work.
The confidence and experience I gained from the internship, as well as the local and international contacts I made, help me in my degree studies and are sure to help me in my search for graduate employment.
The Company
My project team had our won office with little supervision. Lots of fun.
The eight-week placement involved several 'cultural trips' which could have been better, but the timetabling of the work was in general very well-conceived.
Scottish Enterprise offered me valuable on-the-job experience, but very little training was given.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
I would definately consider working with or for Scottish Enterprise again. ANd I am still in touch with the companies that I consulted for.
The Culture
16 Glasgow University students were placed with 16 Colombia students and we had a very sociable eight weeks!
Pretty cheap, although more expensive in the summertime.
Glasgow nightlife is very good.
Lots of socialising with other interns.
