    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed this placement and the variety of roles I participated in. In every role I was given I received a task which would be completed on a day-to-day basis which gave the task a sense of importance.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I worked the 48 weeks in store and everyone in store enjoyed me being there and appreciated the help I was able to provide due to my extensive training.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • All my colleagues wanted to help me and make sure I understood exactly what needed to be done. In the 3 stores I worked in my store manager's were more than happy to help me whenever I needed it as well as show me there roles and how to complete the tasks they had. My District Managers were also very supportive and would ensure I am receiving the correct training. I also had very good support from head office and my training manager who were happy for me to phone them if I had any issues.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Throughout the placement you become busier because you end up learning more which results in more responsibility. There is always something to do and if you are ever short of things to do a manager will show you something which needs to be done.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • You get a lot of responsibility on this placement whatever direction you choose to take the placement. I have stayed in store and I am now running shifts and I run the store when the store manager had a holiday. I now have people in store asking me what they should be doing and I now have a lot of control and responsibility over my store.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There are many occasions where I have learnt presentation skills which I can transfer to uni. I feel though the biggest skill has been the development of my communication skills which will stay with me for the rest of my career.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I haven't heard of a placement which gave so much variety and has organised it as they said. Whenever there is a date for a trip information is provided and any changes are communicated well.

    5/5
