The Role
I enjoyed coming into work everyday. Everybody was really helpful and supportive.
I was made to feel welcome and part of the team from the very beginning.
My mentor was absolutely fantastic in providing me with support and guidance during my time on placement. I could talk to my mentor about absolutely everything, and the advice given was absolutely priceless.
I felt that I did not have a lot of tasks to satisfy a full working day. And on a few occasions I felt I could have engaged in more, however I was given high profile projects which really enabled me to develop further.
Initially as you would expect I was given a lot of administrative tasks to do, however as I became competent in my role, I was given high profile projects which have me some accountablility. Most importantly it is the ability to seek opportunity which is emphasised here rather than projects being given on a plate to you. So the responsibility is dependant on the individual.
The skills I have aquired and developed may not necessarily impact on my degree course, afrter graduation howeverm, I have literally learnt skills for life.
The Company
The general atmosphere was really good in the office. Everyone was always really happy and smily and always willing to conversate. Working isn't just about the job itself, but rather the people around you. The positive atmosphere allowed me to settle in really quickly which gave me the confidence to do the job.
The placement was a bit unorganised and there did seem to be little structure, but being spontaneous can be a good thing
There were several training and development days throughout the year, with the other placement students which were extremely beneficial.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
In terms of the graduate scheme for me, not very appealing as I would like to go into something different which they do not offer
The Culture
It was okay could have been better.
Cost of living I would say was reasonable, but at times could be quite expensive
Not the best.
There were loads of opportunities for those students who took the initiative and went looking.
