The Role
Very enjoyable and challenged to do more and make the most of the 12 months.
I feel very valued and believe that any member of the team can approach me to help or even support me with some work.
Every level of staff within my team whether senior or like myself on placement are very approchable and helpful. My Manager gave great gudiance through having a personal devleopment plan which outlines goals you want to achive over the year which is reviewed after 6 months and then 12 months. As well as this I have weekly 1-2-1's with my manager to discuss any issues or plans for the coming week and if I need support with any of this.
I always have tasks to see me through the day and I have been keen to seek and get work if I have days where i dont have as many tasks, which the team have been great in distrubuting.
The responsibility I had in this role was much greater than what i thought it would be at the start, some of the tasks I pull together such as KPI's are used in meetings to share with the wider team on how we are tracking year on year, month by month etc.
The placement has helped me gain a great deal of skills such as confidence and being able to approach all levels of staff within the team, I have been on numerous courses which has helped develop and improve skills further. For example organisation and efficency and utilising the time you have. I believe i can apply some of these skills into my final year and have real life examples to relate to.
The Company
The atmosphere is very good as all staff are friendly and approachable. We also have team days to celebrate success which has included going into london and staying in nice hotels. Not to forget a big christmas party!
I had a great handover with the person I was replacing for 2 weeks which helped me settle into the role, aswell as given a folder containing all the info I need for reference and day to day tasks. We also had an intro day put on by HR which again gives you a further understanding of the business and what to expect and hwat you are likely to go through over the 12 months.
I have great support from management ot attend courses if I wish within my 12 months I have attended a few of these courses which has aided my development. My personal training links back to my personal devleopment plan which is aspects you want to improve over the 12 month period and how you are going to achieve them, whioch again my manager has helped me to achieve some of these goals.

Tesco see this 12 months as a year long interview and a sign off day at the end of the 12 months will indicate if you will be asked back to join the graduate scheme.
The Culture
Aswell as my team being outgoing and celberating success often, there is also alot of other placement students working for the company. Groups can be found on facebook to help with finding people to live with aswell organsing nights out. There is a big network within Tesco to have oppurtunites to be social as much or as little as you want.
Accomodation costs I find slighlty expesnive but it is the par for the area in which i lived and my salary was more than adequate to cover this. Again there are numerous oppurtunites to socialise and meet new people.
With London on your doorstep you cant complain, aswell as towns dotted around the office which are good for a few beers.
The area I lived in wasnt great for activities outside of work although there are areas further a field such as gyms, cinema and resteraunts.
