The Role
I enjoyed the placement thoroughly and feel the experience has been invaluable.
I bonded with my colleagues both inside and outside of the office, which made working relationships at work much easier.
There was a strong support team in HR who were very approachable at all times and management teams were always on hand to offer support.
There were extremely busy days but then oppositely, there were also days where I did not have much to do. However, in general I feel the amount of work I was delegated was enough.
I had lots of responsibility and was given whole projects to manage, as opposed to acting as an assistant to them.
I will be able to use the experiences I have had at PSA Peugeot Citroen when I am back at University. I can apply real working examples to the theories and principles I am taught in lectures.
The Company
The atmosphere was always very friendly and there was an environment where friendly conversations were held whilst working, in a way that didn't affect productivity. This made a more pleasant environment to work at.
The support before and during the placement was excellent. We were given welcome packs in the lead up to starting our roles and had regular meetings during the year to ensure we were happy. It was obvious PSA were used to having Placement Students, and everyone knew how to utilise and treat us.
We had 4 official training days across the year from an external training company. We were also all trained in our departments in field specific softwares or tools.

There are a range of Grad Scheme Jobs available to the Placement Schemes, however places are limited and noone will be offered a job until September if they are selected.
The Culture
Initially there were quite a lot of events organised but these decreased in number towards to end of the placement.
In Coventry, the cost of living was quite standard. We were able to take advantage of some of the student offers and deals in the area, as there are two Universities in the city.
Although it was a student city I lived in, there wasn;t a huge amount of options on clubs, however, there were a couple around the city centre that were OK.
Yes there was a Social Committee in the company who orgabnised a Christmas Party, Race Nights, Family Fun Days etc.
