The Role
The internship was a brilliant experience. I was able to see first-hand what auditors do on a daily basis and how they respond to client needs.
I was always treated as a member of the team. I was given work that graduate trainees are usually expected to do, which was challenging but also exciting.
I was allocated a 'mentor' on my internship who was always available if I had any questions. Feedback was given and managers were always approachable/
My internship took place just as the team were concluding a Half Year Review for the client. Therefore, it was a busy period for us.
I was trusted to contact clients and arrange meetings with them, in order to help me to complete my tasks.
The internship started with a two-day training course. where we developed our presentation and teamworking skills. The skills learnt during the placement will be put into good use when I begin a graduate role.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was always very friendly.
We were told at the start of the internship what team we would be going into and what client we would be based at.
All interns attended a very enjoyable two day business focus course at the beginning of the internship.
Subsidised Canteen
I was offered a graduate position for 2010 after the partner interview at the end of my internship.
The Culture
There were always events arranged for after work by others in my team and also fellow interns.
London is of course quite expensive for going out. In addition, accommodation costs are high.
Plenty of bars, clubs and restaurants to choose from in London.
All interns took part in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) day, where we helped to clean up a public park.
