The Role
Really liked working with the people and enjoyed it as it came to an end but at times it was a real struggle. I did not like the city I was in.
People really welcoming and friendly. At first it was quite difficult to be valued but when people recognised that I was doing good work I was valued.
Management offered support when I needed it but was not offered a great deal in terms of development.
At times I was just the right level of busy but for a couple of months I had very little to do and it was very boring.
I had as much responsibility as anyone else in the team, but felt like I could have done more if I was given the chance.
I gained confidence here but I hardly received any training . I would expect a lot more training from a graduate role.
The Company
People were very friendly and there was an open plan office. We met every Friday for cakes and went to the pub after work. Around Christmas time there was a very nice sense of community. I made a lot of friends.
The work placement was well organised. The office I worked in take on several interns every year so they definitely know what they're doing.
I only received 2 days of training while I was here. Everything else was "on the job". There seems to be no interest in employing me afterwards, and I don't think it is any easier to apply for jobs from within the company than from outside.
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
I have not been helped to look for a position, just been told to look on the job search website.
The Culture
Yes, good social scene. The city I am in is a bit boring but there are quite a few young people here and we have had some fun.
Very expensive city.
Oxford has absolutely scocking nightlife. I wouldn't reccommend anyone who likes music other than top 40 to come and live here. If you do like top 40 it might be ok. All the clubs are owned by the same people so there is very little variety.
Nothing with work, there are quite a few clubs based in Oxford.
