The Role
I did really enjoy my placement, I learnt a lot about business in general as well as some more industry specific stuff. I feel as though it will help me in my last year at uni as I have real life expiriences to relate to what I am learning
Never once felt like just a placement student or someone who was only going to be there for a year. Everyone was really friendl and helpful and would always help if needed.
Extremley helpful and willing to push me to improve. Always around for catch-ups or to discuss how i was doing, anytime i needed anything they were more than happy to help.
To start with was a bit bored but that was down to lack of knowledge of market and systems. After a few weeks was always busy and never really had anytime where i didn't have anything to do. At times there is a lot to do but that is just because it is such a large company, it's not a bad thing as it means you have real responsibilities and makes you learn to work smarter.
Once you have learnt the basics you are given as much or as little responsibility as you want. you are given the chance to take on serious roles that will actually impact on the business.
Massivley will impact on my last year of uni, gives me a real life case study to base a dissertation on as well as people to contact to get info.
The Company
Friendly atmosphere and people are happy to chat to you and have banter etc, but as pepople have quite a lot to do then it can sometimes be everyone staring at their screens
Very well set up, the programme is excellent. You are given a clear induction and then taken to your team where they take care of you and show you what you need to do. You have meetings with the training team to discuss what you should do as well as with mentors and hr to look at your progress
Interested in your development and future career, set you targets and a development plan. Equally loads of training which you are encouraged to go on.

Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Because of the size and reputation of the company it is an appealing place to get a job, working for one of the world's biggest retailers is not a frequent opportunity. There is the cahnce if you perform well and fit in that you will be offered a job at then end dependant on completing your degree, but not a lot of info is given about this just that it could happen.
The Culture
Relativley good social scene, but will probably depend on the group you are with. I have made some really good friends in the year that i will kepp in touch with after i finish
I Live at home around 45mins to an hour away so wouldnt really know, hertford has its own uni so i would imgine quite reasonable.
Again as I live at home I am not too sure, but have been out in hertford a few times and its ok. London is only about 40min train journe away so loads to do and easily accessible
There were a few advertised but not something every week. Im sure there would be if you looked and asked about them
