    • I felt really valued and I was treated as a member of the team.

    • I was given a lot of guidance and support, especially from the trainee that I was working alongside.

    • I was able to develop many practical legal skills, such as drafting, and also my presentation and organisational skills and these skills will definitely be of use in the future.

    • Quite well structured.

    • The office had a very fun, open and friendly atmosphere.

    • There wasn't any training or development sessions provided but I was able to develop my skills by completing real work throughout the week

    • I was given a clear insight into what it would be like to work as a full-time trainee at the firm. I worked alongside a trainee all week and so I was given a great understanding into their role and the work that they carry out on a day-to-day basis.

    • I was really able to gain an understanding of Shoosmiths' culture

    • The experience re-affirmed that I have chosen the correct career path

    • I was paid £250 for the experience which is a great deal when compared to many other firms who do not pay students for their vacation schemes

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • I attended three social events where I was able to network and meet employees from different departments

    • The social events and networking opportunities were very good. I was able to speak to employees of different levels and from different departments and gain an insight into their lives and why they enjoyed working at Shoosmiths.

    • I found out a lot about the firm's CSR, sporting and social activities
