The Role
A great company to work for with the role I was in being very well suited to my attributes. Couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the working world.
Everyone was welcoming from day one. You are considered a valuable member of the team, not someone brought in to make up the numbers and provide cheap labour.
This is very subjective to the role and manager but for my I had a fairly geographically distant relationship with my manager. This didn't provide much of an issue though as we'd have regular conference calls to catch up and discuss my development.
My account went through cycles of busier times and quieter times. I found best way to avoid wasting your time and being bored was to go out and involve yourself with challenges outside of the day job. This could include community or charity work etc.
As the placement progressed I was given increasing amounts of responsibility, and sought out areas I could own. The tasks I was given would be based on my skills and personal development areas.
The main thing I'll take away is the insight into the real corporate working world. This is priceless as I know what to expect when I complete my degree. I cannot overstate how much a placement helps you to grow professionally, but also personally.
The Company
Worked in multiple office locations and everywhere the people were friendly and approachable. A great atmosphere to work in.
The placement was organised at a high level straight from the beginning. Projections for the year were established early which was helpful.
The opportunity to train and development was highly encouraged. The drive needed to come from the individual to apply for courses and undertake training.

Providing you do well in the year, you may be fast tracked to an grad assessment centre. This means you can avoid the long application process and online tests.
The Culture
Most of the placement students live together within the same area. This made socialising easy and common
Pretty standard pricing for the location. I'm based in the Thames Valley area so the costs aren't too outrageous for southern England
Base location office is found in a small town but I live in Reading. There is enough going on at night to get you through the year
Once again, you get out what you put it. If you make yourself available for these things, there are always activities to get involved in.
