About You
Extremely fun and challenging 3 days on the Talent Academy. The tasks were very relevant in terms of what we can expect to be doing on an actual placement, and the free time activites were also enjoyable. I made many new freinds which further enhanced the experience.
There were many people there so I could not expect them to focus just on me, but I felt valued as I was given enough time and attention on the tasks and I was treated with respect throughout.
Plenty of guidance, as I was given a practice task before the actual assessment, and everyhting was fully explained. When I had any queries they were answered
I feel that I developed my commercial and business awareness, especially on the Academy Airways task. This will definately help me should I get a placement. I also further developed key skills such as communication and teamwork
The Company
Very structured, as there were many tasks and presentations to get through in the 3 days, and it only loses out on a star as many groups had to stay up late to finsih off their respective group assignments. However the structure was very solid and organised, which ensured we all learnt a lot
I found it very fun throughout, the planned activities such as the networking evening, the free time, the food and general hospitality wass excellent. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone!
The venue and hospitality was vey expensive, so they invested a lot in this case. They also thoroughly invested in the tasks and presentations, recruiting outside specialist companies to come in and help develop our skills
The tasks helped to emphasize what working with PwC would really be like, as they were simulated to represent real life scenarios, such as the Academy Airways group project, the written task and the group discussion task
I know roughly what its like working in such a culture through research and from others who have worked there, and we were introduced to partners who described the ethos of the company
I was pretty decided on my future career path before the Talent Academy, but the content was helpful in showing me what its really like to work for PwC as it gave me an in-depth look of the company's day to day tasks
Everything Else
Everything was paid for already, so no need for reimbursements or personal payments
A whole evening was dedicated to networking with partners, and there were plenty of other people within PwC who were friendly and approachable
They were very useful as I gained a key insight into PwC and its operations
They touched on this briefly but did not go into great detail, but I am not too fussed as I roughly know whats available
Extremely valuable experience that can fast track you to an internship or placement, whilst simultaneously getting to network with professionals and fellow students, and gaining an insight into the company of PwC
