The Role
I really enjoyed it! Work was varied and I was given a lot of real responsibility. My manager was great throughout the year and gave me a lot of freedom in terms of working hours.
I was not treated like a placement student at all. I have been an integral part of the team all year and given the same responsibility as full time employees.
My manager always made sure that I was ok in both my work and personal life. If I wanted experience in a certain area of business, he made sure he gave me that opportunity.
I went through stages of been incredibly busy (during project phases) and times where I was only doing my core work. Overall I had a good balance.
I was given some incredible opportunities which included running a project within the company! Having to meet strict deadlines and also organising colleagues who were working with me.
I have learnt more over my year at Xerox than I have during my 2 years at University!
The Company
Perfect balance of work and play. Allowed to have a laugh as long as work was completed.
It had its rough patches, but overall was well organised.
I was given free reign on what training I wanted to do so it was down to me how much I wanted to get from the company.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Healthcare from home
I would work for Xerox again, if it was in an area of business i was interested in.
The Culture
Nights out, football matches ect. Good student atmosphere within a corporate environment.
Just outside of London, so expensive if you wanted to go out anywhere but Uxbridge!
Awesome in Central London (although expensive), Uxbridge has a Liquid so nightlife is not great.
Not sure! Several charity events which were set up by students.
