    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Great year. Insightful, exciting and challenging.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Seamlessly became an integrated member of the team, rarely felt like a placement student.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Constant emphasis on personal development.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Nature of project work means you experience both ends of the spectrum. You can be insanely busy or extremely quiet.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • You are constantly expected to be a self-starter, be that on leading projects or sourcing new work.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I would recommend a placement year to anybody capable of doing one in a heart beat!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general office atmosphere was friendly and dynamic.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The London intake is relatively small compared to other large accounting firms therefore a placement 'community' doesn't really exist. This, however, is offset by the graduate and junior executive events.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm has a training manor located in Bradenham, Buckinghamshire where I attended four over night training events, from Lead Advisory Skills to Insolvency Basics. I also attended a number of in house training sessions provided by internal and external trainers, subjects included: pensions, debt advisory, tax, etc.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Placement students are fast tracked to a final interview/chat with an Audit partner for entry on to the graduate program post your final year of university.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are plenty of social events, informal post-work beers and numerous sports teams to get involved with.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It's London, it's expensive. The GT salary means you won't have to live too frugally but nights out can get pretty expensive...

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Finsbury Square is on the northern edge of the City. You have Shoreditch on your northern doorstep and the City and London Bridge on the South. Furthermore, you're always a short tube away from anywhere in central London.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • From sports clubs and weekends away to debates and industry seminars, the opportunities are endless.

    5/5
