The Role
The Aldi Industrial Placement Programme is undoubtedly the most challenging experience I have ever had. The high level of responsibility aids development as a professional and makes the experience extremely enjoyable.
Aldi's people are highly valued by the company and their happiness shows. everyone is very friendly and helpful. At Aldi I have been given genuine responsibility with the projects and tasks I have been charged with. By placing such faith in me, my managers and colleagues have made me feel highly valued and respected and ultimately enhanced my placement experience further.
Aldi's structured training provides placements with all the tools necessary to succeed. It is thorough at every stage and has enabled me to learn and develop as an employee. Regular updates with management provide excellent support and direction at every stage of the placement.
There is never a dull moment ... Aldi is an exciting and fast paced company to be involved with and whilst the work is challenging, it's is extremely rewarding. You are constantly on the go with new challenges arising every day which develop your learning, not only as a student but a professional.
Responsibilities vary at each stage of the placement but all are of an equally high level. You will be handed the keys to a store and take the reigns as a critical part of the management team, communicate with business partners and provide feedback and suggestions to senior company management on various issues.
The Aldi Industrial Placement provides real industry experience and allows you to put your textbook knowledge into practise. It is one thing reading about challenges in business and, as I have learned, another actually experiencing and overcoming them with a fast growing multinational organisation.
The Company
Aldi has a team of great people who, together, create a professional, fun and fast paced atmosphere.
The placement has a set structure which is followed throughout the year. Roles, line managers and goals are set out and structured training is provided to help achieve these. The structure allows the placement student to take in the entire business and experience first hand how the organisation works.
There can be no doubt Aldi has a strong commitment to nurturing students to become the management for tomorrow. The company invest significant time and money into developing competent, confident managers.
