The Role
The site was quite small so there was a wide variety of tasks on site however there were some very quiet times.
Only a few people on site so you got to know them fairly well.
As above, easy access to management.
Some periods where there wasnt much to do but then some where it was really busy.
I was in charge of a number of sections of works.
Some skills transferrable to degree, mainly it gives a different perspective from the solely consultancy based degree.
The Company
Only a few people in there.
Mainly site based with some nationwide networking opportunities.
Depends on the people on site rather than head office.
Moving away from engineering.
The Culture
Sites are isolated and some are small so there is no chance for interaction with other interns if you are on a small site.
Pretty cheap if you find a room to rent.
Pretty good.
Some, but mainly organised by site staff.
