The Role
Great company with great people this is what made the placement so enjoyable. A real variety of tasks, some dull, some great; this was to be expected.
Always listened to, work taken seriously, treated professionally like an adult at all times.
More support needed perhaps initially while finding my feet but this was a special circumstance. Enough support for the rest of the year without ever feeling like anyone is breathing down your neck. Help always available on request.
Work is mostly project work so you are as busy as you want to be; you are accountable for what you deliver. No shortage of work to do.
Treated as a valued employee; projects are real. Held accountable for your own results and as you prove yourself, the responsibilities given to you become greater.
Lots of personal development, C.I. training particularly useful. Developed a structured approach to projects which will remain useful for a long time.
The Company
Pretty quiet office, different atmosphere at factories. Friendly people just working really hard most of the time.
Great 2 week handover period at the start. Annual calendar of placement events added some good sturcture.
C.I. training and strengthscope particularly useful. Various in house training aswell including combustion training.
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Placement student only assessment centre to be undertaken soon.
The Culture
Large intake this year (around14). Good social dynamics within the group.
Housing estate close by, walked to work. Relatively inexpensive area but not exactly cheap.
Non-existant in the week, livlier but still naff at weekends. Honestly only spent one weekend in Peterborough and vowed not to do it again.
The company supports charity events and people at work organise a few sports clubs but these are external and not widely publicised.
