About You
Very interesting, covered a lot of areas including activities with employees working from Global Markets (sales and trading), Global Banking (M&A), research and operations & technology.
They were very encouraging to us, not only about future applications but they also seemed geniunely interested in what you had to say - your past experiences, interests and feedback
We had both group exercises and individual activities assigned to us - naturally we were given more guidance during the group activities however, if you asked for support this was willing given
The tutorial given on how to disect the Financial Times will definitely be useful in the future - when all the jargon seems to complicated. They also guided us on how to network sucessfully using body language
The Company
Very busy workshop - lots of activities scheduled for us and it was very well structured given the amount of material we covered. We had lots to do but it was all good fun and very educational
It was very relaxed and quite informal
The fact that they had external speakers brought in to talk to us meant they invested in us - by introducing us to the wider market outside the firm. We also had CFOs who gave presentations
We were allocated to different departments during the day to find out what that section did - they role and clientale. It was a brief introduction to the different roles within the firm and the people
This was a very useful experience - since you could interact with the workers, find out more about their work ethic and motivations, acting as a team. They were very encouraging and friendly
Great, the recruitment team were very keen on us to apply for further opportunities and encouraged us to take advantage of this event to apply for others. Definitely eager to apply again
Everything Else
Great - they arranged lots of activities for us to meet a range of employees during lunch, dinner and drinks. Considering this was only a three day event we managed to meet a broad variety of workers
Very enjoyable, you got to ask many questions and socialise with others.
Briefly - sports
Definitely, it was a great experience which demonstrated how innvoative a firm HSBC is - we had lots of activities and a wide range of students who studied different subjects to network with.
