The Role
The work has been tough at times, but having challenging work has helped to make the year interesting and valuable. The Fujitsu IP scheme also puts a lot of emphasis on being a community, which has helped make the social side enjoyable.
Varied from colleague to colleague. Was very satisfying when a colleague goes out of their way to show appreciation for a piece of work I did for them.
Most early guidance was provided by the previous IP student, but this was more than enough to give me the knowledge I would throughout the year. Over the year support from management has always available if needed.
With the nature of my job I was often too busy at the begining of the month, and had a bit more spare time at the end of the month. Although this imbalance is not ideal, it is almost unavoidable.
I felt like I was given a good amount of responsibility during my placement year, with many of my reports being used by senior members of the organisation.
Although the skills I have developed this year are not particularly relevant to my degree, I have learnt a lot of skills that will come in use in the future. Mostly interpersonal skills, and how to deal with conflict and pressure in a calm manner.
The Company
Was generally a busy office with lots going on. Our team was a lot of fun, and the majority of people around the office were very friendly.
Generally a well set up and well ran placement scheme.
Only form of personal development/training offered was in the form of one or two skills workshops throughout the year.

The Culture
You could always rely on their being fellow students ready for a night out to blow off some steam.
Fairly average sociliasing and living costs. Was a bit of a reality shock after getting used to £1 pints at uni, but compared to London, food/drinks are very resonably priced.
The town centre has a lot to offer in terms clubs, and there is a good variety in terms of music, so there is something to please everyone.
