The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed working for CAT all members of staff where friendly and approachable.
My contributions were valued by all staff, including during large projects. I was included in all meetings and never missed out on critical discussions and decisions made by the various matrix teams.
My team leaders/supervisor gave great support, whenever I had an issue it was quickly resolved.
Sometimes it got busy due to the amount of tickets and projects I was tasked with, however this rarely happened.
I was given a lot of responsibility, including being the England representative for a major software replacement project.
During my time I learnt a wide range of soft skills, these range from wording emails to discussing sensitive topics with clients. The skills I have learnt will be transferred to later work opportunities and during study periods.
The Company
Everyone where I worked was fun and approachable, I never had a dull day.
I got information on the placement without asking, and the graduates team was always on hand. Help ranged from finding somewhere to live to workplace issues.
The company invested a lot of time and effort into developing myself, I learnt a wide range of soft skills and hard skills. Working with new software/hardware and people was challenging at times but they company made sure I had the basic skills before tackling projects and calls.

The Culture
The graduates team organised a range of social activities, including pub golf and talks from the presidents of CAT.
Generally it was quite cheap living in Stafford, everywhere was within walking distance and I was able to get student accommodation.
Not much of a night scene at Stafford, there are 2 clubs one of them is for over 25's and the other is alright. However there are plenty of pubs and places to eat.
Lots of post-work activities went on including opportunities to volunteer and to take part in the facility football team.
