The Role
I really enjoyed my placement at L'Oreal-the people and the work were both great.
Everyone was very friendly from the first day and made me feel welcome.
My manager was very good. She was always available to help and give guidance when needed. I had very clear objectives and a thorough review with my manager both half way and at the end of the placement.
This varied day-to-day but I was never sat with nothing to do. Depending on the time of the month it would be more or less busy.
I was given a lot of responsibilty from the very start. I had my own role with my own responsibilities and people would approach me to ask questions.
I have learnt a lot of finance and IT skills. I will be able to take these with me into whatever career I pursue.
The Company
The office is quite laid back and there is always lots going on.
I would say that the induction process could be better. However from the minute I arrived at L'Oreal the organisation of my placement was very good.
I attended various product courses and discovery days within different parts of the company.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Healthcare from home
I am hoping to secure a graduate role with the company.
The Culture
There have been a few social events organised by the interns comittee. Many people also go to a local pub for drinks.
As it is in central London the prices are not cheap. However, L'Oreal is not right in the centre so it is not too bad.
The nightlife is not good in the immediate area but central London is a tube ride away so this is great for nightlife.
There are a few sports teams to join. We also have a yearly citizens week where you can volunteer for a charity.
