The Role
Great experience working for a huge company. CAT really value their employees and it shows
It take a little while to settle into a company this big, and get to know everyone. Once you're settled and get your feet on the ground, its all hard work from there!
They'll challenge you to a level that they feel comfortable with all the support you'll need. There are so many people in the business there's always someone who can help you
My workload fluctuated but I was always busy.
Growing responsibilities as more people get to know you and you start to familiarise yourself with the company
The practical knowledge I've gained on this placement has helped me understand where I'd like to apply my degree in the future. I couldn't fault the experience
The Company
Great people to work with.
I was given various jobs to work on. I didn't have set goals to achieve by the end of the year and I actually preferred this. It gives you a better chance to see the company as a whole and direct your own training. You do need to be pro-active
I got operator training for the product group that I work on. Most training would be considered on the job.
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Awaiting a contract in the next month
The Culture
Graduates and other placement students give a decent social scene.
There was an office night out every so often. Cost of living was as expected.
Leicester is okay, but there isn't anywhere else local for nighlife
Sports and social club and educational events too.
