The Role
Enjoyed it alot. The teams were really supportive, and welcomed me in when I first started. I enjoyed working on the numerous projects, they were challenging but that's what got me motivated.
Not just by my team, but from the whole department were welcoming and friendly. They helped me when needed, and gave me great advice.
During my 1:1 sessions, my supervisor was able to give excellent guidance of where I needed it. I would explain what my issues were and he would then give me a number of solutions to try out, that helped alot.
During the begining of the placement year, there was little to do. However once I started on a number of projects I was assigned to accomplish tasks almost every day.
In a number of projects I was given a specific role, which had a number of responsibilities; for example Project Coordinator.
I gained as well as enhanced a lot of skills that will help me with my final year at university. I also gained management skills that will help me with my future job. Such skills are web development, database programming, communication and project management.
The Company
The team was really friendly, we would joke around. Everyone got along with each other.
From when I first applied, to the phone interview, to the assessment centre/interview, to when I started it was well orgainsed. The communication was great, and during the first couple of weeks they orgainsed training for all placement students before sending us off to our departments.
I feel that the company has invested in me more confidence. Before I started I was quite shy and nervous, now I feel like I can speak up more when I have ideas. Or when I am interview, I can now feel more confident in myself and the skills/knowledge that I have.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I enjoyed my time here, and learnt quite alot of interesting facts about the company. If I did get a job offer after my university degree, I most likely would take it.
The Culture
There were quite alot of placement students where we all were added to a group within Facebook. There we would invite each other to social gatherings such as cinemas, and BBQs.
It was about average, though I did not visit many places within Peterborough
It wasn't that great, though with the friends around me, I enjoyed the nights out.
There were a few clubs to join that the company orgainsed such as football, and photography
