    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Working in Advanced Product Creation - Vehicle Architecture I was able to see and influence vehicle programs that will start production as late as 2018 which was extremely exciting. There was always something new to learn and the people within the business are always wiling to help.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was treated as an equal member of the team who's opinion was valued as highly as others. I was also trusted very sensitive information.

  • Managers always willing to arrange time to give support or guidance in tasks.

  • Always something new to do so no time to be bored

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given my own studies to run, directly influencing potential future vehicles, as well as responsible for project managing short to mid-term tasks within several vehicle programs.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have had many opportunities to develop both personal and technical skills which will significantly help in my final year of university.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a good level of conversation and banter.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • In my experience it could have been a little bit more organised at the start within my own department but generally it was very good.

  • There is lots of opportunities to go on training courses and people around the business I willing to answr questions are explain things in detail when asked.

  • Have a place on the Graduate scheme 2014 after a mini assessment center

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I lived with eight other year placement students in two houses. HR organised a facebook group where we were able to talk to each other and sort out housing. My department organised infrequent curry nights and go carting.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Leamington Spa is quit expensive to live compared to some other part of the country - you can find lower cost accommodation in some areas and nights out are not too expensive.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Leamington spa has two clubs and lots of bars (its not Brighton). It is a student town so it is quite busy during student term time. Coventry also has a number of clubs and Birmingham is a short train journey away also.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There where a number of cutry nights, go-karting trips.
