The Role
I enjoyed it very much, made so much better by the social aspect and our great team. The job also was good.
Was always willing to help when asked. Lot's of information available if you asked. You get out what you put in.
Very good balance, especially for finance which is prone to busy month ends and quieter mid month periods, but had a good constant flow of work which always meant I was busy.
All tasks have responsiblity otherwise they wouldn't be worth doing, however there is of course a limit to how much responsibility you can get as a placement student. Compared to how much responsiblity I expected to get I am happy with the amount I got.
It did not relate to my degree (Economics) but I didn't expect it to. I have developed skills as you do throughout your life. Obviously it has been very valuable but so is anything you do.
The Company
Loved the atmosphere in the office. Rarely quiet unless very few people in, I enjoy being in a workplace with plenty going on with many people on the phone etc. Also I had a great team.
I don't think the firm invested too much as me as a placment student but I know as a finance placement student, but I know they do as a finance grad in funding professional qualifactions.
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Through the recommendation of your line manager & the placement programme superviser you can get fast tracked to the interview stage. However I do not know what the placement superviser judges you on and what factors they take into account as I only saw them 4 times I think. Because I do not know how it is judged I cannot judge myself.
The Culture
Very good. Great bunch.
Quite like Reading, god a few bits going on. The placement itself was in Bracknell which has very little nightlife.
I think there was but I don't know.
