The Role
Enjoyed the job. Lack of team and felt students were relied upon too much. Working in support did however mean I learnt lots of new skills due to the challenges given to me, so the lack of support within the team did have a positive effect with this in mind.
felt like a valued member of the team (sometimes too much!). Great respect while having a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
regular reviews, never felt uncomfortable talking about any issues I was having. Good work/life balance.
Often far too busy, often took work home and felt like I needed more hours.
I was running the show was an understatement! Full responsibility, just as much as a normal employee after a couple of months.
Not lots of training but they do pay for most certifications you want to do. Skills will stay with me for a long time.
The Company
Pretty fun and relaxed, often had a serious side too.
quite organised. at the start often not, but they are always reviewing and improving this process
They often pay for exams but not for training. Training is on the job finding someone who knows what to do!
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Lots of job opportunities if you do well on placement.
The Culture
Good social side with other students. Not much time to socialise!
Reading is quite expensive compared to students based in leicester, despite being paid the same.
Quite good nightlife, very student-type area.
Football and a few others, always people making little groups for the gym and other activities. You just need to ask around as they are not listed anywhere
