The Role
I really enjoyed my placement, and would like to return for the Graduate Scheme that Thales offer.
My colleagues were all friendly, helpful and supportive.
My managers were extremely supportive and any issues I had were sorted out shortly after asking.
I was busy most of the time on my project, I did have some slow weeks when I was changing projects.
I was given lots of responsibility on my placement. One of my projects I had almost complete control over as I was implementing it from scratch.
My placement has massively helped me develop skills in various programming languages and to help me to develop my skills. Which will help me in my future studies.
The Company
The general atmosphere was good, occasionally the office felt a bit empty but it was still a pleasant environment.
My interview and assessment center was a bit last minute, which did mean I had to rush to find a place to live. However when I started working everything was ready for me to start.
I have attended some training courses for the company, however I would have benefited from different courses.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Thales have summer internships and a Graduate placement scheme which I hope to get a place on.
The Culture
I started at the same time as the other interns and graduates which meant I wasn't on my own when I started
The cost of living was fairly high as the company is based near London. Socializing was possible as there are a few pubs to meet in town.
There are a few clubs, pubs and bars in Crawley. I didn't normally go to them as I'm not interested in clubbing.
There was a graduate football team and a few other events outside of work.
