  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • There was no science in the job which was unfortunate as I am studying a Chemistry degree

  • Personally I felt valued but the job itself is clearly not a highly valued one

  • Good level of support

  • Was relatively inconsistent, existing at the two extremes for much of the time

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a good amount of responsability but some of my training was a bit lacking which meant that I couldn't fully achieve what I needed to.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe this skills I have gained will probably be beneficial to my future but will have no impact on my degree.

  • generally a positive, friendly atmosphere

  • Could have been better but it certainly could have been worse.

  • I do not feel like a lot of time was spent on my personal development but on simply getting the job done.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes I got along well with the majority of the other students. My work department were all nice people but I rarely socialised with them

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • South coast is pretty expensive as can be expected but the wage was sufficient to live and socialise

  • The town itself leaves much to be desired but the nearby city is a lot better
