    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my year working at the Barnard Castle site, I have been involved in a high profile project which I have found very rewarding and enjoyable.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • One of the best aspects about this placement was the fact that my colleagues did not treat me like a student, I was respected and given the same roles and tasks as permanent members of staff.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given thorough support and guidance to ensure that I achieved the most out of my placement that I possibly could. This helped to give me direction and understand the kind of role that I want to move on to when I graduate.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was always given the same amount of work as fellow colleagues, this was a perfect balance to keep me busy. If I ever felt that the level of work was not achievable, I would mention it at a daily accountability board where any issues would be resolved.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given an extensive amount of responsibility, that meant I could flourish in my role and become very familiar with the working enbironment.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have developed very good communication, organisational and time management skills over the course of my placement, these will come in very useful when I continue with my degree.
