The Role
I was given the freedom to pursue the work that I wanted to to within my team. I was given some industry certified training and gained plenty of insite into the company. Outside of normal IP work I was also given the opportunity to complete some charity work and team building events.
My team was highly qualified and despite me not being able to do the same work they do I had plenty to do and my work was valued.
There wasn't much support from my manager, having said that everyone on my team was happy to answer my questions and help me out when I needed it.
For the first few months you can get a little bored but once you hit your stride there is a good balance.
I had the creative freedom to pursue the work I wanted and to approach it however I wanted.
My industry skills and increase in programming ability will definitely help me next year
The Company
A few arguments break out however overall the office is extremely friendly and people love to talk to you if you give them the time.
The placement could have done with a little more structure as it was hard to get anything to do at first.
I have been given the opportunity to apply for a fast track graduate scheme and have also gained ITIL certification.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Although I didn't love everything about the organisation, I would definitely be happy to come back here and work here for a few years and the company invests time in it's graduate schemes.
The Culture
Placement students frequently went on nights out and social events. We also had fairly frequent team meals.
Its London... rent costs a lot, alcohol is disgustingly expensive, but this is to be expected. You earn enough to get by comfortably.
Once again, London, a couple of tube stops away from the centre. Also there are plenty of pubs near work to go for a few in the week.
Sponsored paid charity days, team building events, social events.
