The Role
Some of the aspects of my first role were extremely challenging but the level of support that I recieved was excellent. Experiences during my second role were very interesting and offered me a chance to expand my skill set.
I felt extremely welcomed by my team and was fully integrated.
I was supported well- I felt able to ask for advice and help, yet felt trusted, so I was able to offer suggestions and work independently.
During my first placement I was extremely busy, however as I moved into my second placement I felt that I was more able to cope with the work load and was able to manage my time more effectively.
I was given a lot of responsibility from the beginning, and as time progressed I was given more opportunities as I proved my ability and trustworthiness.
I was given a great chance to learn how to manage a team under pressure, a skill which I will be able to use throughout the rest of my career.
The Company
The general atmosphere was very supportive, encouraging and all of the team were able to advise me. There were always times for a joke inbetween.
The organisation of the placement was good, with the support of a mentor throughout and management always willing to help. It is difficult to book time in with the mentor on an regular basis though.
Throughout my time at Samworth Brothers I was guided, coached and trained into my role. This was an extremely valuable part of my placement.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
After experiencing what Samworth Brothers have to offer, I would be extremely happy to return after I have graduated.
The Culture
Some of the students in the area have been meeting regularly for drinks and a catch-up.
The cost of living and socialising was around average.
The nightlife in Leicester is good.
There is the annual Christmas party and celebrations for Diwali. Alongside this, some teams socialise out of work together.
