The Role
I found it interesting but the atmosphere in the lab was quite uncomfortable. The full-time staff made it clear that they did not want placement students.
The full timers made it very clear that they would rather not have placement students.
My supervisor was there when I needed help but I did not feel entirely comfortable asking for it.
There were up days and down days. It was fine.
As much as can be expected in a lab.
My lab technique has definitely improved.
The Company
Pretty dull but I think that may have just been my lab. The other labs seemed to have a much better time.
SRG (the employment agency) were a joke. The reduced our number of holidays even after we had signed a contract. The were also extremely unhelpful. GSK were fine with regards to their organisation of the students.
We were trained well starting from day one.
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
They have made so many redundacies.
The Culture
I made some really great friends.
It was fine. Pretty cheap to get in to london.
Pretty lame but london is so close.
Only if you made them yourself.
