The Role
Had a superb time. Great office and great people made up for the early mornings
Department were generally very social which was good.
Occasionally let loose for a day or so but generally support was good.
Mixture of ongoing assignments with one offs each day. Summer period so there were always going to be quiet days
I knew the local menus off by heart.
Beyond University I want to return to RBC and use experiences from the Internship. The summer placement was invaluable in getting insight into how banks work.
The Company
Dealing room was never quiet though the Summer months did mean activity was slightly more calm than usual. Plenty of characters.
No complaints - the two month placement flew past
On the job training meant that watching and listening were the most important part of the internship. Access to Bloomberg etc were comped but still very useful. Introductory training was more useful to meet and socialise with other interns.
Fingers crossed for Assessment centre
The Culture
Started well but narrowed down to three of us very quickly. FX team also organised a few evenings out which were eventful.
London.
City
I think there were a couple of charity events, but not heavily promoted
