The Role
My managers were happy to give me work to do and let me explore what I enjoyed.
As a placement you are treated like another employee and carry the same accountability and responsibility as any other employee. However the managers are there to support and coach you.
Managers and the wider community were always willing to support and help.
Despite having plenty of projects, workload varied from none to too much. This is the nature of the role where you rely on others to carry out work before you can move on.
Responsibility was given out on the basis that you were happy to take more on.
This placement teaches you the skills needed to work in an engineering environment.
The Company
Everyone in the office is friendly and so the chatting and 'banter' never stops.
Well thought out placement.
The company were willing to allow us to explore the opportunities and environment around us.
The company division I worked with are not hiring currently and have gone through redundancies. The chances of immediate return are slim.
The Culture
Placement students organised lots of events and socials. The colleague side was almost non-existent.
Average cost. Not as cheap as a uni city.
Peterborough has a good social scene
The placements were always busy organising events and so there was always something to do.
