    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I felt valued and like I was integral to the operations of the business, not just someone to pick up the slack and do as I was told - they gave me projects to manage and real responsibility.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I think that I fell lucky with my immediate managers, in that we got on better than I could ever have expected, which seems to be the case with a lot of students. Then further to this, everyone I met throughout my placement was so helpful and treated me just like any other member of staff.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • 5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was never bored, just sometimes a little too busy!

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • 5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills were so varied and transferrable. GSK really invest in developing you, even through you're only there for the year!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • 4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • 4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • This would be the main negative for me - there are very few places on the graduate scheme in the area that I work and whilst it's great the GSK take on so many placement students, it also means there isn't the highest conversion into graduate roles.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Immediately by work there are just pubs, but it's not too far from central (say half an hour), so that was good!

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • 4/5
